 What does it take to be a leader? In the book,  A Failure of Nerve: Leadership in the Age of the Quick Fix  by Edwin H. Friedman, it talks about 5 important leadership characteristics that the great explorers of the world possessed:   1) A capacity to get outside the emotional climate of the day.    2) A willingness to be exposed and vulnerable.    3) Persistence in the face of resistance and downright rejection.z    4) Stamina in the face of sabotage along the way.    5) Being “headstrong.”   If you are to be the leader in your life today, what characteristics would you like to foster in your self?
